Dr. Clyde Rivers Promoted to World Peace Ambassador

The Universal Peace Federation/Inter-Religious and International Federation for World Peace, has chosen to appoint Dr. Clyde Rivers as a World Peace Ambassador. UPF/IIFWP is an NGO with special consultant status with the economic and social counsel for the United Nations.

As a World Peace Ambassador, Dr. Rivers will be a part of the world’s largest and most diverse network of peace leaders. These leaders come from all walks of life representing all races, religions, nationalities, and cultures. Their commitment is to promote reconciliation, overcome barriers and build peace. Some of their duties involve participating in peace initiatives and programs that promote reconciliation and cooperation beyond traditional boundaries of religion, race, ethnicity and nationality. Their ethic of “living for the sake of others” is their guiding principle.

The proposal to the United Nations, by UPF/IIFWP, is a call to be an inter-religious counsel. “The world has great expectations for the United Nations as an organization embodying humanity's aspiration for peace. World peace can be fully accomplished only when the wisdom and efforts of the world's religious leaders, who represent the internal concerns of the mind and conscience, work cooperatively and respectfully with national leaders who have much practical wisdom and worldly experience.”

Dr Rivers said, “ It is amazing to have the ability to work with the many former presidents, prime ministers and top world religious leaders to help bring peace to nations, cities, and communities globally. We understand that it takes spiritual men and women of all faith to solve spiritual problems of the world. It is great to see the UN working with UPF/IIFWP to uncover the heart of issues and work to solve conflict at a spiritual level. I am happy to except this position of World Peace Ambassador so I can work together with other great men and women to help establish peace in the nations of the world.”
